The Hundred Million Dollar Man - An Interesting Showdown

Citicorp got bailed out - billions of dollars of taxpayer money was LENT to them.

Citi needs to make money - to REPAY those funds with a RETURN ON INVESTMENT to the US Taxpayer.

Citi has an employee - who has a "pay to perform" contract. His performance has earned him 100 million dollars. This means that Citi has made AS MUCH OR MORE on this person's performance than the person did.

Now, the question is not - whether anyone is worth 100 million dollars or not. We can all be jealous or whatever that we don't make a fraction of that. Tiger Woods.....Lance Armstrong..... AC/DC....they all make a lot of money too.

They make the money - because they are talented and they have contracts that pay them to perform.

Now, the people that pay these other notables - are not backed by the US Government or Taxpayer.

One side - you have employer/employee contracts

Other side - you have people saying, "it's not right that someone makes that much money when we helped his employer provide the opportunity to do so."

And someone in the government - a politician.....is going to decide this.

My take? - if the guy is helping pay back that money to the government in a significant way, I am not going to pluck feathers off or kill the Golden Goose.
