Why it makes me happy - the first hole at this course is a little tight. A lot of guys took a hybrid off the first tee. I went with the Big Stick.......and was rewarded with a great start.

Why it makes me happy - neither my opponent or I played well. After 16 holes at HIS home course, we were locked dead even. I made a GREAT pitch shot on 17 to give me a par to go up by one. On 18, he had a clear shot to the green. I had to hit a low running punch under a tree with a bit of hook to it from 170 yards.......and I ran that puppy up to within 15 feet of the pin...game...set...match. Love performing under pressure!

Why it makes me happy - I won! OK....that was just a side note. The real joy was being asked a very serious question......and to be able to have some fun with it....make the people laugh...and then make them tear up a little......all in about 2 minutes.

Why it makes me happy - convertible.....Interstate 80 through the mountains....perfect temperatures. I'm a conservative driver.....but it can be kind of easy to "let er drift" coming back down the mountain. For whatever reason, I was just soaking it all in. It was a good thing too....the CHP had the full on speed trap going on....HappyUP!!!! for me! (Not so much for the people that I saw pulled over)

Why it makes me happy - nothing like a tourney to fire up the competitive juices. Yeah, my partner and I could have played a touch better. No matter. FUN!

Why it happened - my club has a team

Why it makes me happy - after the tourney in the morning, I turned around and represented our club against another club. I won my individual match after staging a tremendous comeback. I was 3 down through 10 holes. It took me until the 18th hole to do it...but I pulled it out. My partner and I won our team match. Overall, our club ended up with a tie. It's not what you want on your home course....but it's better than a loss. My partner and I pulled our weight as he won his individual match. We got the maximum 6 points.

Why it makes me happy - my opponent and I were all tied going into the last hole. His third shot into the par 5 came up short. Mine scooted a little long.....leaving me with an EXTREMELY fidgety little chip shot......which I knocked up for a gimmie. Lots of class by my opponent to concede that putt. I love the sportsmanship of golf

Why it makes me happy - as I work at my computer everyday, I am multi-tasking...managing investments, doing my officer work on numerous volunteer websites, making tee times, organizing other things, helping people with their events, doing research....etc. It's great when I get a Facebook notification for a little humorous break and can interact with my friends. All without worrying that I am stealing time from an employer. I love my life!

Why it makes me happy - experience saved the day. A less skilled/mature driver would have panicked.....possibly bump into someone...I almost did. I used coasting and the emergency brake to get to safety.....do a restart/reboot of the truck's system....no issues. Yeah...I have to monitor this but, if it recurs, I will know what to do.

Why it makes me happy - ever buy something....than have the thing be defective....and, yeah, this was the one time that you lost the receipt? I discovered the defect on Sunday....called the manufacturer yesterday....was told I needed proof of purchase. Unfortunately, I had made the purchase a month ago and was just now putting the equipment in use....receipt LONG GONE

Why it makes me happy - they put the tees on this par 3 back on the "top shelf" today for our special tournament. I hadn't been striking it too well...and this was a challenging shot with the wind. I got inside everyone else. A great little boost

They say "bad golf should be expensive," and they are right........it's a HappyUP!!! when it's NOT! Actually, our "total exposure" was really light....bets with three teams...it was just funny that we won exactly enough from one team to pay the other two.

Why it makes me happy - the horserace is a tournament within the tournament. It's a gradual elimination after you are paired with the guest of another member. If you get down to the finals, it's four teams playing the last hole for all the marbles.....with every other contestant circling the final green as a gallery watching you come in. Pressure?....uh....yeah!

Why it makes me happy - with about 90 yds in....and all those carts behind the green...it would have been pretty easy to hit one a little "thin" and send it into someone's windshield. Nope....I decided to hit a perfect "spinner" to within 10 feet of the hole. I got a LOT of attaboys on that one!

Why it makes me happy - we were tied with one other team so we had to "chip it off" with everyone watching. The other team went first. My partner then got up and hit his a little fat and didn't quite get on the green. It all got down to me.......and I knocked it well inside the other team. (Insert Queen music here-----"We Are the Champions, My Friends"). Great fun and I have a new Canadian friend, my GREAT partner in this endeavor.

Why it makes me happy - I skipped out of the Friday night Invitational shenanigans and went out for a night of fantastic music under the stars. The weather was perfect...the ride home was awesome......just a great evening that capped off a great day. Yeah....this was a particularly good day to be me. I pinch myself!

Why it makes me happy - that's a pic of my little buddy's teacher holding a pic of all the kids in her class.......and their quotes of "where they see myself"....in the future calligraphed around the photo. I am sure my little buddy's teacher is going to find a place to put this treasure.

-----No...probably not the best piece of calligraphy I have done...the requirement on the layout may have been a touch outside of my pay grade as a scribe....no matter...she is going to love this for a long time
