Why it makes me happy - I don't take a weather report a week out as the Holy Grail. It does appear, however, that next weekend is going to be very pleasant. Next weekend is the one that sets the famous Ol Nutter Almanac for this year. What? You don't know what that is? Do a search here on the sight.

Why it makes me happy - it was kind of cool. It also gave people something to get excited about. It was great watching people make a big deal about it.....using it as a teaching moment with the kids....FUN!

Why it makes me happy - OK...it's mostly luck to hit a shot like this so close....but there is a touch of skill involved too. This 5 iron from about 150 (normally hit it about 180) came out low and had just the right amount of heat on it to be conceded as a birdie

Why it makes me happy - all three did great in their first speech! More importantly, 3 new people means 3 new people.....................but even more importantly........we had 5 guests today....at least.......of which..... most will join........GROWTH!!!! Growth is good!

Why it makes me happy - hit a great wedge into 18...no idea why it went so far over the green....and put me in a HORRIBLE spot.......I was just happy....my chipping has NOT been the bread and butter it's been in the past....but I have been working....it was cool to hit this tough shot perfectly....almost to the spot where it went in....but I got the gimmie for 5....which saved some dough

Why it makes me happy - I'm pretty good of not letting THAT light come on too often. Unfortunately, "stuff" happens sometimes. I had to be close to fumes when I pulled in today. Was thrilled to avoid packing a gas can around today.

Why it makes me happy - in a younger day, I was a carpenter. I had to deal with a big door today....and I remembered an old carpentry trick. Like martial arts, intelligence and leverage can always beat brute weight

Why it happened - I do that sometimes
Why it makes me happy - I was three down with three to play. I won 16, 17, and now I HAD to make about a 10 footer to halve my match...........and that putt was DRILLED into the center of the cup! THAT is why we play the game

Why it makes me happy - a greenside bunker shot off an upslope can be tricky. I lofted this one up in the air.......and it landed inside the edge of the cup!

Why it makes me happy - I put my drive into the left bunker. I hit a 90 yard wedge out of the trap to about 8-10 feet and drained the putt.......right into the back of her throat!........on top of my opponent who had already made birdie. I've never birdied that hole from the bunker before.

Why it makes me happy - came across an very interesting recipe. Was it perfect first time out? No...Was it tasty and something to build upon?...ohhhhhh yeaaaahhhhhhhhhh. While it's obvious with lasagna, it's a nice turn on rigatoni to throw it in the oven after boiling it.

Why it makes me happy - the retired Brigadeer General gave a speech today that he will be giving on Memorial Day. It's an important talk. The General is a good speaker....trying to become great. It was an honor and a privilege.......that a man of this caliber.......looked to me afterward for coaching. Very...very....humbling

Why it makes me happy - my old door was rotting away on my out building. My buddy is a pro, however. It is awesome to watch someone that has skills and is a craftsman. The old structure threw a curveball or two at him.....no problem.

Why it makes me happy - I have to think this is the most severe storm we have had this year. It just didn't end. It took some breaks....but then kept coming back with a fury....the kind of rain...that you just love to watch.

Why it makes me happy - this is the day the "back 40" starts to look like something again. I love to till....and smell the dirt. The anticipation of a bountiful harvest begins. It's also the day I go and get the "special ingredient.'

Why it makes me happy - so proud of one of our members WINNING the division speech contest. She had to defeat 6 other contestants........and now she is on to the district conference. What a privilige to be along for this ride!

Why it makes me happy - THIS piece of public recognition was about as unexpected as could be. Wow! You never know who and how deeply you touch someone......even though...you are just cruising along....and doing your thing

Why it makes me happy - it is a VERY fortunate thing I have in my life.....my brother and I are about the same level in golf.....and we both play OK.....yet........we have NO "thing" about being competitive with each other.....none at all. Sure, we like to win but, when it comes to the two of us, neither of us cares. We just enjoy our time on the links.
