Why it makes me happy - I hit a great shot into this par 3......too great...I was 15 yards over the green! The shot now required chipping on to the top of a hill...and then the ball gently roll through the tall grass.....so it just had enough speed to get on the green. From there, it didn't have a lot of room to slow down. I hit the ball....walked up the hill....just in time to see the ball gently roll toward the cup.....and gently rim it. A lipout!!! THAT was a moneymaker!

Why it makes me happy - we have powerlines/telephone lines that run through our club. The rules of golf say that, if you hit them, you have to replay your shot. It is what it is. On the 12th hole today, I hit a great shot....that hit the lines...but still ended up on the green. I would have taken it. My adversaries said, "hey....rules is rules...you have to rehit." They were right. I complied. Usually, you don't hit an even better shot the second time after a great shot....but I did. Loads of fun as they said, "hey, play the first one." LOL ...of course, I ended up three putting the better shot so it really didn't matter. The HappyUP!!! is in the hijinx!!!

Instead of taking two to get down, I watched the ball hit the fringe and trickle right at the hole.....and drop in on it's dying roll. Cha Ching....a guaranteed win on the day

Yet, as I walked on, it was nice to hear, "thank you." In these times of entitlements and people being unhappy (thinking about the Occupy crowd), it is nice to hear APPRECIATION and GRATITUDE.
