Why it makes me happy - a kid loses at the state tournament. Lots of kids storm off. This kid already lost his dad at age 7 from heart attack. The kid that just beat his butt to win it all.....has a dad...with terminal cancer. The "losing kid" went over to the ill father of the kid that just beat him....and gave him a hug. Pretty good character from a sophomore..............or ANY AGE.  Uplifting

Why it makes me happy - after a HORRID front 9, it was great to start the back off with a couple of birdies. One was a 9 iron that was just DRILLED at the pin....the other was a long putt. My partner made a birdie as well. THAT made up some ground for what we lost on the front

Why it makes me happy - my opponent had just made about a 40 foot putt for birdie.  We all tossed out the usual line, "....didn't see that coming."  It's not often putts of that length are made.  It is even more rare when the next guy (me) hits the next 35 footer into the jar to TOP his birdie...."definitely didn't see THAT ONE coming!"

Why it makes me happy - it is not often I hit all 4 of the par 3's.  This is especially true when an 8 iron/4 iron/5 iron/6 iron are involved.  It is even rarer that I would be closest to the pin amongst the group all four times.  It was GREAT to make SOME kind of contribution to my partner today

Why it makes me happy - I had kind of noticed that the old dogs hadn't been barking....didn't realize they had both been put down.  Got to pet and start making friends with replacement pup.  I'm not sure I have seen a "tuxedo pit bull" in my life. New pup is one good looking dog that I will become friends with.  Pit bulls get a lot of bad press.  They can be sweeties.  I'll be working on this one to be my friend from the get go

What a wonderful journey - it has been!

So MANY lessons learned in the process - one is that I am kind of known as "Mr HappyUP!!!"  You know what....there are far WORSE things to be known for than that! As a matter of fact, there actually could be a few deranged souls out there that might think something FAR less of me!  (Oh well...I can't do anything about their poor taste! LOL)

No matter - people think what they think....and...overall....it's been overwhelmingly positive.  So many people have said, "hey....that is a cool thing...and I have started trying it."

Another thing learned - others in life are happier than me. Others in life are less happy than me. NEITHER of those matter.  It's all about continuing to perform an intervention upon oneself that forces one to either RAISE one's own bar.....or to at least not allow it to slip.

Yep, I admit - there have been days during this project where I go, "it doesn't seem like there was that much exciting or anything that really made me happy today." .........

.....THERE is the "AHA!!!! Moment" - and the point of the process.   WHEN that feeling creeps in, it's a whack to the side of the head saying, "Nutter, you obviously aren't paying close enough attention to life unfolding around you." .....

....and get back on the ball - the unpleasant things in life will SCREAM for your attention...you will notice them.  You should notice them.  There is probably an action that needs to be taken. Of course, the unpleasant should only get the attention it needs to handle the issue....and not a drop more

The happiest people - naturally see all the pleasant.  A large part of happiness is genetics.  Nothing any of us can do about that.......BUT......

....we can all work - to become HAPPIER.  It is what all of this has been about......for 3000 days.
